Abruzzo Earthquake
Abruzzo, Italy. At 3:32 a.m. on 6 April 2009 an earthquake reaching 6.3 on the Richter scale hit the town and the province of L’Aquila, the capital of the Abruzzo region in Italy. It almost completed destroyed the medieval centre of the town and some villages surrounding it. More than 300 people died. I arrived there just few hours after the the quake and walked in what remained of the historic centre. The light was so strong to seem unreal
